Westray’s mining products may be divided into two parts – consumable items used in day to day mining operations and products such as anchor bolts and rail brace supports used in new mining infrastructure projects.
Westray has supplied a wide range of products for new coal mines in the Hunter Valley, including anchor bolts, fabricated/machined tie rods (64mm diameter threads), and anchors for rail track used at the mine site.

On the consumables side, Westray supplies mill liner bolts for use in ball mills and ore crusher bolts. We also manufacture special head bolts for specific mining applications, such as spill plate bolts and tee bolts.

We are very proud of the development work undertaken with Advanced Chain Technologies Pty Ltd to produce a superior range of flight bars for use in the Australian longwall coal mining industry. Within the space of three years, Westray/ACT moved from a zero market share to 30%of all longwalls. This was based on superior design and superior material selection/heat treatment to give a longer lasting bar capable of higher tonnages prior to replacement. All bars are produced on Westray’s 4-tonne drop hammer or sourced from proven Asian manufacturers.
