Innovation has always been an important part of Westray’s contribution to Australian manufacturing. As a nation, Australia has always been an inventive country and we are proud of the new products that we have helped bring to the market. Our contribution in this area has been recognized many times with a number of forging awards from the Australian Forging Group. These include:

• 1995 Innovative Forging Award for development of a Roof Bolt for underground mining
• 1996 Innovative Forging Award for development of a special Mill Liner Bolt
  
• 1998 Innovative Forging Award for development of Flight Bars
  
• 2000 Innovative Forging Award for development of a different type of Flight Bar
  
• 2001 Marketing Award for import replacement of Flight Bars
  
• 2002 Innovative Forging Award for development of a Lifting Handle
